(Tl) is a nonprofit educational organization that operates clubs worldwide for the purpose of helping members improve their communication, public speaking, and leadership skills. Through its thousands of member clubs, Toastmasters International offers a program of communication and leadership projects designed to help people learn the arts of speaking, listening, and thinking.
As part of our NYA scholarship program each scholarship cohort group takes part in a ten week rigorous Toastmasters young leadership course that sharpens their public speaking and writing skills and allows a forum so that they can think critically and become more conscious and aware of the world in which they live.
Neighborhood Youth Achievers Scholarship Program.
The NYA Scholarship Program is a seven month seminar, taught by local professionals and other gifted community members, in order to engage our young scholars in the many facets of academics, finances, and self-development. This program includes a ten week Toastmasters leadership course, a series of workshops centered on college preparation and life skills, annual field trips, community outreach, volunteer opportunities and civic engagement events. Each scholar is awarded a bridge scholarship upon completion of the scholarship program to use towards his/her college or vocational education.

Mother-to-Mothers Program
NYA’s Mother-to-Mothers Program is a comprehensive integrated program that functions as a support group for mothers and helps them through their social, emotional and/or psychological challenges and personal well-being. We do this by identifying goals, developing skills and using resources within their community to enable women to parent as effectively as possible. Each person in the program develops an Individual Family Plan (IFP).
DADDY & ME Program (DMP)
NYA’S “DADDY & ME” program helps fathers remain with or reconnect with their children and become more involved in their children’s lives. The Daddy & Me program achieves this goal by peer to peer counseling, workshops, and mentorship programs. NYA hosts annual events to foster the platforms to reach the stated goals.

NYACares
NYACares is a program within NYA that promotes volunteerism and civic engagement. NYACares hosts several annual events as well as sponsors and or supports several others through its wide network of volunteers and community partners and stakeholders. Some of these events include the highly successful Moonlight Basketball Tournament, Back2School Backpack Giveaway, Thanksgiving Dinner Giveaway, Christmas Toy Giveaway, Community Summer Picnic, Summer Youth Employment, Community CleanUP, CicLAvia.
NYAGreen
Promotes environmental sustainability in the Watts community. It is a commitment on the part of NYA to reduce its carbon footprint and educate the community through workshops, and several strategic community based annual outreach events that promote a sustainable, healthy green lifestyle.
Transitional Living Program
Neighborhood Youth Achievers is pleased to present the planning and development of its Transitional Living Program. Our plan is to upgrade our property on Lanzit Avenue to 12 modern, affordable housing apartment units for emancipated foster youths & small, low income, families.
